Mom's right angle.

Apparently my mom was at the salon the other day getting a pedicure, stood up... and woke up on the floor. She said (while she was on morphine, so take it with a chunk of salt) that she looked down and her foot and angle was at a right angle with her leg, and she reached down and tried to put it back but it wouldn't go.

Yeah.

That was less a "yes" yeah than the involuntary shiver that goes with the gruesome imagery. You know, where you feel all your internal organs quiver and your throat constrict?

Seems she broke the two bones in the lower leg (tibia and fibula? Fibia and Tibula? Chocula and BooBerry?) and tore two ligaments *and* broke her ankle. Apparently she's in the hospital until tomorrow due to the emergency reconstructive surgery, in a cast until Thanksgiving, and having problems using the crutches and so is getting fitted for a walker.

I think the walker was the most painful part!

I'm joking. She's pissed off about the walker, but she also said she'd never been in so much pain in her life. And she's given birth three times. So.

(She also recounted sitting in the emergency room looking down and those pedicure foamy things were still between her toes. Of all the bizarre things. How did they not get taken off?)
